The Good friend field teahouse in Wangfujing, Beijing will serve you tea, and then charge you 180 yuan for two cups. This is more than you should have to pay for tea in any country, especially a "developing country" like China.
It is a scam.
It works like this. An innocent local woman will approach you and start talking to you in english. She will tell you that she is an english student, and she would like to practice her english with you.
She will then take you to the Good friend field teahouse in Wangfujing, Beijing, and claim she's never been there before.
You will order two teas and talk. The bill will come and you will be faced with an unusually high price for the tea.

i got scammed in exactly this way when i was in beijing. i cant remember the name of the teahouse but i think it was the good friend. i got charged 300 rmb for a couple of cups of tea (hot water?) and some chocolate. absurd.

Same scam, Same place...Good Friends Tean House on Wangfujing: Two nice Chinese university students practicing their English..."It's very cold out here, why don't we have some tea...ahh this place is the closest...300 RMB for "very special" Kung Fu tea. Originally the "Good Friends" tried to convince me that I needed to pay the whole bill of 1,500 RMB!!!
