Christmas Carols in Wahroonga

I met up with Becky and the family she nanny's for in Wahroonga (40 min N of Sydney). We walked up to Sydney Adventice hospital where we set up a blanket while waiting for the evening's entertainment. We were on the lawn in front of the hospital. There was a stage set up as well as Christmas lights and other Christmas decor. By the way, there are no Christmas lights out here on the houses like there are in Canada. In fact, I heard on the radio, the host saying that if people want to put lights up fine, but keep it in the house!!!!
Okay, so we're sitting on the lawn (in shorts :)) with about 4-5000 other people. An announcement was made that the port-a-loos were to the left of the stage. PORT-A-LOOS??!! The child entertainers came on stage followed by an appearance of Santa Claus himself. He was handing out lollies to the children trailling after him. Then, about 8 pm, which is when it gets dark, various musicians came on stage singing different carols. All of this was on TV for the patients to watch from within the hospital. About every other carol was a sing-along. People had glow sticks and candles. When it was all over, there were fireworks! That's a first for Christmas for me!
