jetstream: Tokyo, Japan - 2004-04-21

3 months in

I have been in Japan for just over 3 months teaching English, and saving for my trip across Asia. The language here is a twisted combination of three alphabets, and a mix of native and foreign words. It's about enough to drive a person crazy, surprisingly easy to speak, but impossible to read.
I live in a Japanese mansion, actually it's an average size, almost generic-american house. I was told to expect a room the size of a shoebox, and I have more living space here than I had back home. I guess I'm lucky in that small way.
