Everything enhanced
Costa Rica what a wonderful destination. Coming from a travel agent i have sold and see alot of destinations but this on leaves me with a life changing experience. If you are planning on taking a trip to Costa Rica it is a definate must for all nature lovers. If you are interested in different cultures and ways of life this is an excellant place to start. Everyone here, the Ticas and Ticos all say hello and greet you with a smile. These people are the friendliest people I have ever seen.
We started our trip with our arrival into the San Jose airport in Alajuela. With a polluted drive to the car rental company and accross the way our hotel for the night Hampton Inn suggestable for the overnighters. We had a continental breakfast and pizza hut delivery to the room these were very convenient ammenities. The next morning we found out that Bush had given the 48hr ultimatum for Sadaam to get out or get bombed. Well we all have our own opinions on that matter. After that notice I decied to avoid it altogether for the rest of the the trip. This was easy to do In Costa Rica, it is like you have flown to a whole nother world where the other world doesnt exist.
Everything here is so much more as if you have gone back in time before all the residential homes have been built all the buildings, offices and warehouses. There is land here that has never been explored. I was lost in time in a paradise that I thought would have been gone forever in this day in age. I did see this type of civilization in the city of San Jose and Alajuela though it was still a much slower pace than my home city of Denver, Colorado.
Anyway after staying overnight in Alajuela I was scared to set out on the roads being a female driver and in a foreign country. Dont get me wrong I am an excellant driver and have driven in Mexico before so I can handle treachorous driving conditions ans my fear was alleviated after about a half an hour on the road. Driving isnt really that bad Heck I even drove after dark but, watch out for bicyclers in the middle of the roads and hiways no reflectors also watch out for potholes, lizards, bus stop people and fast moving semi trucks that often test you with a game of chicken. Get the insurance!!! The first stop is Monte Verde for those Americans who dont speak Espanol it means Green Mountain. Beautiful its a cloud forest one of the very few around in this world I think I read somewhere about 7 of them exist. This is where they studie the green house affects. We drove the road to Monte Verde not advisable unless you need practise four wheelin. We had a Toyota Corolla we named it mighty mouse. 2 wheelin is a new sport I founded. This is normally a 2hr drive but with the roads in this condition more like 4 1/2 2 wheelin that is.
