Pictures! ...from Patagonia
Hello from the southern tip of Patagonia (almost)!
Having flown in to Punto Arenas from Santiago, we took a bus north into the
vicinity of the Torres del Paine park. We hiked for seven days in the park,
and while at times the route was bottlenecked with similar hikers to
ourselves, it was amazing. We got an amazing veiw of the southern tip of
the Helio Sur Glacier mass, depicted in our attached photos. You canīt
really tell, but the wind is frigid and brutal. We then proceeded to hike
and camp alongside these glacial winds. There was chapped lips and bad hair
everywhere we turned for the rest of the hike. The view became even more
amazing near the end, with turquois, sparkling lakes, pointy peaks, and the
sun even came out to shine on the scenery, but we unfortunately had run out
of film! After 150 km -we are sore now!
Talk is expensive down here, so we will sign off. We hope to have been
further south by the next installment. Hope everyone is well.
