Pre-trip planning
4/18/00--Ben and I are newly married, I'm finishing law school--Graduate this Friday!--and then we are hitting the road for a three week trip to Western Europe. Ben's grandparents, aunts and uncles all live in Belgium, where his mom is from, so we are headed there first. We actually will fly into Paris, but will do the Paris thing last. We've both been there already so if there is time left at the end (doubt it) we will do some of the less touristy things then. I am getting from excited, not only because I can't study another section of the Uniform Commercial Code, but because Ben speaks fluent French and I can't wait to see him in his element.
We have deliberately not planned much. We want to do whatever we feel like, not to mention my life has been pretty structured the last seven years in school so I need a change of pace! But the basic itinerary is France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Southern France, Switzerland and then back to Paris. Obviously, we are trying to hit lots of places, but hey if we never get out of Belgium, who cares! as long as we are having fun!
Hopefully, we will be able to find cybercafes so we can update this journal for family and friends often. Wish us luck! --Kim
