Monkeys and traffic

The bus let me off in Simla.

Simla is a lot like a Swiss mountain village, except for all the monkeys. It is up in the mountains and surrounded by evergreen trees, lind of like home (Vancouver, Canada), and the best part is that it is NOT HOT HERE! It is cool.

In the old days of British occupation, Simla was the resort town were the Brits would go to cool off. Now, it is a resort town to the Indians. They all wear sweaters here, but I am quite comfortable in a t-shirt and shorts.

The children here love to shake my hand, and in their very best English say "Hello, how are you?" At Jahku Temple (a monkey temple, where quite a lot? bunch? herd? gaggle? of monkeys live) one was only brave enough to come up to me and say "The monkeys are naughty", and run away giggling. Later he said "Stones are good for scaring monkeys" and was equally amused with himself.
